Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale
In this alternative Christmas story, something evil is stirring in the depths of Lapland’s Korvatunturi Mountains in the week before Christmas. 486 metres underground, a team of American geologists have come across something utterly mystifying: a 65-foot wall of sawdust. This is no natural phenomenon, but a thick blanket concealing a terrifying secret buried centuries ago by the nearby villagers. Meanwhile the time of the annual reindeer hunt arrives but the herds do not; all the reindeer, inexplicably, have been viciously slaughtered. Young local boy Pietari (Onni Tommila) is convinced he knows what’s really going on: Santa Claus has come to town, and he’s not bearing gifts or spreading good cheer…
