This raucous rom-com/chick-flick is like Sex And The City meets Hidden Figures – minus the algebra. Over the years, four BFF college pals (Hall, Latifah, Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish) have lost touch – both with each other and with their own senses of identity. But eventually the self-styled ‘Flossy Posse’ reunites at the Essence Festival in New Orleans for a long, hard, partying weekend with dancing and romancing to make the Big Easy blush. Drinks are chugged, men are appraised, secrets are outed and inspirational truths are reached in a manner that’s genuinely inspirational. Starry cameos from the likes of P. Diddy, Ne-Yo and Mariah Carey provide extra fun, but the main draw here is the full-throttle energy of the ‘girls’. They’re having the best time – and you will too.
