Whether you’re a holiday maker exploring the city, or a Brightonian who wants to learn a little about their local history - a tour of the iconic Duke of York’s, the oldest purpose built cinema in the UK, is the perfect start to a day out in the city. As you’re shown around the cinema, you will learn the history of the building dating all the way back to 1910 and remarkable stories from over the course of 114 years that make it truly one of Brighton’s most beloved landmarks. There may even be a few ghost stories… Tours run every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 10am. Spaces on each tour will be limited to ten people, but if a time slot reaches its full capacity we will put a following tour on at 11am the same day. Please be aware that private tours will only be available for groups of four or more and may only be available on certain days. The tour is also available at a discounted rate for school class trips.
