In this slightly neurotic and very funny film, Matthew Shear (Between the Temples) stars as Sam Stein, a 30-something tax lawyer, who suffers from crippling anxiety. When Sam loses his job, he ends up working as a “manny”, babysitting his psychiatrist’s three granddaughters. Their mother, Diane (Amanda Peet), is a struggling actress with a history of depression, and the two form an intimate friendship that few understand. Moving between New York and Martha’s Vineyard, Sam’s complex relationship with his employers leads to scenes that are, in the words of one reviewer, “alternately hilarious and devastating.”
