We invite you to a very special double bill. The screenings of David Lean’s enduring love story Brief Encounter which celebrates its 80th anniversary on Wednesday 26 November and then watch the premiere screening of the real life story that lies behind the iconic film. Briefest Encounters - An Untold Love Story - uncovers the hidden past of actor Cyril Raymond, who played the cuckolded husband in the film. In an uncanny twist of fate, Cyril himself experienced a ‘brief encounter’ with fellow actor Janet Morrison during a transatlantic stage production which resulted in a child being born out of wedlock. This film is about more than one lost love - it’s about three intertwined lives, missed chances and the emotional cost of convention. After the screening there will be a Q&A with the filmmakers Joanna Crosse and Luke Taylor from Meaningful Films.
